Item #P800 - Figural Petit Point Purse With Enamel Frame - SOLD
Lovely c.1920’s figural petit point done in an extremely fine micro
stitch. The design is of a man and a woman in an outdoor surrounded by
trees and flowers and an urn of roses. The design is surrounded by a
floral pattern and an urn of flowers on each side; it is the same on
each side. The gold metal frame has a nice raised design and is
enameled on both sides in green, grey and ivory. It is embellished with
marcasites, all of which are present. The inside is lined in a tan
faille with two side pockets and is unsoiled. It has a nice chain
handle that measures 12”. The purse itself measures 7 ¼” by 5 ½”
including the little enameled clasp. There is some very minor wear on
the bottom corners the purse and a couple of tiny holes in the folds by
the frame hinge. Other than the small flaws mentioned the purse is in
very good condition.
