Item #P986 - Carnival Bead Purse with Figural Celluloid Frame - $425.00
Wonderful c. 1920's purse made up of large brownish-green carnival
beads with a lush looped fringe attached to a celluloid frame
embellished with a variety of figures, elephants, a snake charmer and
foliage. The clasp on the top is also a cute little elephant. It is
lined with a red-orange faille material that appears to be original to
the purse. All the beads appear to be there and are in excellent
condition. The frame is intact with no chips or cracks. The hinges are
intact and in good working order and the clasp is loose but intact and
working. It measures approximately 5" by 10" excluding the nice beaded
handle which is about 13" long. The overall condition is extremely
good.
